International cooperation

UHPA works hard to enhance international cooperation through memberships in the leading international trade associations of travel agencies throughout the world.

On the basis of reciprocal membership, UHPA cooperates with the following trade associations:

ECTAA (European Travel Agents & Tour Operators Association) has its headquarters in Brussels and unites a total of 31 associations, i.e. 77 thousand travel agencies in Europe.

UNWTO The World Tourism Organization is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. UNWTO is the leading international organization in the field of tourism. The mission of UNWTO is helping countries throughout the world to maximize tourism’s socio-economic contribution (e.g. creating new job opportunities, infrastructural development, etc.), while minimizing the possible negative impacts of tourism.

ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) is the world's largest association of travel professionals with headquarters in Virginia, Washington. Members of ASTA include travel agencies, hotels, car rentals and other companies in the field of tourism. The mission of ASTA is to facilitate the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge and the enhancement of professionalism.

DRV (Deutscher ReiseVerband)The German Travel Association (DRV) with its headquarters in Berlin is the umbrella association comprised of travel agents, tour operators, service providers in the field of tourism and international tourist offices in Germany and abroad. DRV represents the interests of all members of the German tourism sector.

ÖRV (Österreichischen Reisebüro Verband) Association of Austrian Travel Agents (ÖRV) is an association located in Vienna, which impartially protects the rights of the most important Austrian travel agencies and tour operators. Its members include 417 travel agencies and 76 organizations and companies in the field of tourism. Moreover, ÖRV generates more than 80 percent of the total sale of Austrian travel agencies and tour operators.

The Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) with its headquarters in Tokyo is continuously introducing and developing a wide range of measures that help improve the quality of services provided to travelers. JATA also contributes to the development of the travel and tourist industry through a variety of activities. It comprises of 1216 travel agencies, 641 travel agents that are not active members, 103 allied members and 739 international allied members.

YUTA - National association of travel agencies of Serbia (YUTA) with its headquarters in Belgrade is an association dedicated to the improvement of the quality of services provided by travel agencies, as well as to the protection of the consumers' rights. YUTA is an association with more than 400 travel agencies which make up over 95 percent of tourist turnover.


UHPA exchanges information, documents, contacts, proceedings and regulations in cooperation with the government bodies of the EU, International Air Transport Association (IATA), World Trade Organization (WTO,  and other important institutions and organizations related to the fields of economy and tourism. Furthermore, UHPA follows and analyses the progress of membership activities in various international trade associations of our members and other Croatian tourist institutions.
