The project is a great example of an expansion of the tourism offer during off-season and promotion of sustainable and high-quality tourism, according to a report published on the website of the European Commission
Project Discover Croatia is listed as one of the twenty examples of good practice in diversifying the supply of tourist services in the document published on the website of the European Commission.
In the report entitled Enhancing the Competitiveness of Tourism in the EU, the Centre for Strategy & Evaluation Services (CSES) depicts Discover Croatia as a “good example of a project that represents a systematic approach to reconfiguring the tourism offer”.
As reported by the CSES, the purpose of the project is to reposition the image of Croatian tourism from ‘sun and sea’ towards other Croatian areas and types of tourism offer. Furthermore, the main aims of the project are to prolong the tourism season and promote high-quality and sustainable tourist services.
The project holder was the Ministry of Tourism and UHPA coordinated the project with the support of the Croatian National Tourist Board.
The report also includes other concrete examples of good practice that should increase the competitiveness of the European tourism industry.
