The goal of the memorandum of understanding between ECTAA and Tourism Malaysia is to boost European outbound tourism to Malaysia in 2018

The European travel agents’ and tour operators’ Association has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) on March 9th at the International Tourism Fair ITB in Berlin, Germany.

Through this agreement, ECTAA has committed to promoting Malaysia as its preferred destination for 2018 among its member travel agents and tour operators across Europe. The objective of the agreement is to help boost tourism flows from Europe to Malaysia, a destination that embodies a wide range of recognizable natural, cultural and gastronomic attractions. The main European outbound markets to Malaysia include United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Norway and Belgium.

In light of the fact that visitor interest for Malaysia has been increasing steadily, ECTAA president Mrs. Merike Hallik expressed confidence that the collaboration between the Malaysian tourism authorities and industry with their European counterparts will be productive and translate into more tourist arrivals to Malaysia.
