The Telegraph has recognized the city of Pula as one of twenty world destinations worth visiting in 2017
The past year has seen Pula achieve its best season to date, and in doing so the city has been a cover story of a whole number of publications. The British Telegraph describes all the particularities od the old town, highlighting its Roman and Habsburg history and promoting the city as an ideal place for fans of rocky shores and diving enthusiasts.
Special attention is given to the “Lighting Giants” – which illuminate the sea of cranes that line the port’s shipyards and create a gorgeous cityscape. Also mentionted is the city's rich gastronomy and offer of Istrian wines. The British portal recommends the easiest ways to visit Istria's largest city, noting that British Airways plans to begin twice weekly services between Heathrow and Pula in July of this year.
Tourism in Pula has broken all records in terms of visits, with air traffic marking over 400 000 passangers. Also, the number of overnight visits has increased by 11 percent with an overall rise of 16 percent in visits from Europe and the world.
