Hvar College began their collaboration on the Travelife – Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism project with the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies in 2014
Last Friday 26 June in Hvar, twenty tourism and hotel-management students from Hvar College received their awards in the presence of a representative of the City of Hvar, the principal, school staff, their parents and other students.
Hvar College began their collaboration on the Travelife – Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism project with the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies in 2014. This is when the first workshop took place in Hvar headed by Ivica Projić, head of the Projects Department at the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies, and Sandra Stančić, the coordinator for the project at the school.
Principal of Hvar College, Professor Saša Paduan, remarked: “We are trying to make our students, especially those studying tourism and hotel management, socially responsible with regard to all aspects of life. It is important to constantly improve their education with new material to better respond to the increasingly complex needs of the tourism industry. Sustainable tourism and corporate social responsibility in tourism are already included in the curricula of over 360 educational institutions and 50 universities around Europe. Teaching about corporate social responsibility will enrich the practical aspects of the curriculum and provide the students with additional competences, as well as better prepare them for entering the working World”
The prestigious certificates were awarded to the students by Mr. Teo Jeličić, Vice-President of the City Council of Hvar, along with words of support and congratulations.
