During their long-lasting rule of Dalmatia, the Romans left numerous traces of their existence.

In the area of the present village of Podgrađe, near the city of Benkovac, there was once the grand city of Asseria. In one of the most important Liburnian and later Roman settlements in northern Dalmatia, you can find the original Roman milestones, as well as numerous other remains of Roman life and advanced construction. In Jader (Zadar), there is quite a collection of glass items collected, exhibited in the Museum of antique glass. Aenona (Nin) is a city which already at that time based its own development on the extraction of salt from the sea and kept it until today. Take a walk with us and get to know the 3000 years long history of Asseria, Aenona and Iadera and discover together with us on this journey through history the Roman foundations of Dalmatia!
