The wealth of Roman archaeological sites across Croatia is a priceless treasure waiting to be discovered and experienced by the inquisitive.

The Roman conquest of Pannonia began in the 30s of the 1st century B.C. Here we can witness the remains of the seat of the Illyrian tribe of Andautonians and the Roman municipality of Upper Pannonia dating from the period. From the very beginning, Andautonia – as a port on the river Sava and a settlement next to the prominent - had great strategic importance. Pique your curiosity and discover a city built in the shape of an irregular hexagon and see the foundations of Roman buildings, a thermal complex, parts of the road, the remains of wall paintings with ornaments, stucco with floral decorations. Visit the Roman Zagreb and try to imagine, for a moment, how they lived and what tools, pottery, glass vessels, jewelry and money they used between the first and the fourth century.

Main activities / attractions : the archaeological Park in Ščitarjevo; sightseeing down the remains of a Roman city, an insight into the Roman necropolis that existed at this location in the 1st century; the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and the Turopolje Museum in Velika Gorica; pottery workshops, Roman games
