According to a study published by SportsShoes.com

Plitvice Lakes have once again found themselves among the world's most beautiful natural destinations. According to a study published by SportsShoes.com, the Plitvice Lakes Trail took second place on the list of the most beautiful hiking routes in the world, right behind the French Calanques de Marseille.
This news was also reported by Telegram, highlighting that Plitvice Lakes was declared the second most beautiful hiking destination in the world. This recognition is yet another confirmation of the exceptional appeal of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, which provides visitors with a unique blend of lakes, waterfalls, forest trails, viewpoints, and wooden walkways.
The study was conducted using the eye-tracking method, which analyzed which natural hiking destinations fastest attract the eye and how long they retain the viewer's attention. Based on these data, a total score was calculated, and Plitvice Lakes achieved a high score of 93 out of 100.
First place went to Calanques de Marseille in France with a score of 94, while Plitvice Lakes took second place, ahead of the Swiss Lauterbrunnen Valley, Peru's Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and Germany's Bastei rock formation.
Such a result is particularly valuable because it confirms that Plitvice is recognized not only as a Croatian natural pearl but also as one of the visually most striking destinations for walking and spending time in nature on a global scale.
The Plitvice trails lead visitors through an environment that is experienced not only by sight but also through the sound of water, the scent of the forest, and the feeling of a direct encounter with nature. A walk through the Park passes along lakes of various shades, over wooden paths, next to waterfalls, and through forest areas that change throughout the entire year.
The Great Waterfall (Veliki Slap), the highest waterfall in Croatia, holds a special place in the visitor experience, as do numerous other waterfalls and tufa barriers that form the recognizable landscape of Plitvice Lakes. It is precisely this combination of water, stone, and forest that gives this area a special power and makes it one of the most photographed and visited natural spaces in Europe.
