Medieval Day successfully held at Prem Castle
Within the framework of the Terra Gothica Incognita project, a cultural and tourism event was successfully held on Saturday, May 30, with the aim of bringing medieval heritage closer to the local community

The cultural and tourism event "Medieval Day" ("Srednjovjekovni dan") was successfully held at Prem Castle in Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia, on Saturday, May 30. This year's edition of the event, with its rich and comprehensive program, attracted a large number of visitors. The INTERREG project Terra Gothica Incognita, under which the program was realized, was also presented to them through an educational workshop.
In addition to displays of knightly equipment, medieval games, calligraphy workshops, archery, axe throwing, and other activities for children and adults, the atmosphere was further enriched by music, costumed performers, and a spectacular fire performance.
The new cultural and tourism destination of medieval heritage was presented to visitors by Jelena Berečić, author of the Cultural and Tourism Development Strategy for the new destination Terra Gothica Incognita. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the concept of slow tourism and the importance of authentic experiences within the context of local culture, modern tourism trends, and nature conservation.
With the successful realization of this year's Medieval Day, Prem Castle has once again confirmed its position as a key point of cultural tourism within the new cultural and tourism destination Terra Gothica Incognita. As a well-designed event, it contributes to the valorization of cultural heritage and the enrichment of the local tourism offer.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Slovenia – Croatia 2021–2027 Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
