Croatia can boast one new MICHELIN star, which was awarded to the Istrian restaurant Harry's Piccolo from Poreč. This is confirmed by the newly published latest MICHELIN selection for Croatia, under which Agli Amici from Rovinj retained its two MICHELIN stars, while one star was successfully retained by the restaurants Krug (Split), Cap Aureo (Rovinj), Dubravkin Put (Zagreb), Pelegrini (Šibenik), 360º (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), Boškinac (Novalja), LD Restaurant (Korčula), Nebo (Rijeka), Alfred Keller (Mali Lošinj), and Korak (Jastrebarsko).
In addition to the aforementioned distinctions, MICHELIN further included the restaurants Bistro Loora from Đakovo, Lulu Fusion Bistro from Osijek, and Nuré from Zagreb on its Bib Gourmand list. As a result, Croatia today boasts a total of 14 restaurants with this MICHELIN distinction, which is awarded to restaurants that offer quality menus at affordable prices.
Special MICHELIN awards highlighting the diversity of professions and skills that make up the hospitality industry were also presented this year. Thus, the special MICHELIN Young Chef Award went to Marin Pleše from the restaurant Vila Rova in Malinska, while the Service Award was received by the restaurant Monte from Rovinj. Branimir Vukšić from the restaurant Pelegrini in Šibenik won the Sommelier of the Year Award, and the Opening of the Year Award went to the restaurant Nuré from Zagreb.
It is worth adding that the Croatian National Tourist Board is MICHELIN's main destination partner for Croatia, and the new distinctions are the result of secret visits to Croatian restaurants by professional inspectors of MICHELIN, the globally most significant and recognized restaurant guide, on whose website the list for Croatia has been published.
