The UHPA' s recommended domestic destination of the year is Zadar County.

With its long history, natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and various amenities, the region of Zadar will be promoted as UHPA's recommended domestic destination in 2025.

With its rich history, natural beauty, cultural heritage, and diverse offerings, Zadar County will be promoted as UHPA's recommended domestic destination for 2025.

The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA) and the Zadar County Tourist Board have signed a cooperation agreement, under which UHPA will promote Zadar County as a recommended domestic destination throughout 2025 across all communication and promotional channels, public events, and printed materials.

The contract was signed at the Zadar County Hall, where County Prefect Božidar Longin emphasized that UHPA’s project has, for many years, successfully contributed to the better positioning, recognition, and promotion of destinations.

"I believe that our county will greatly benefit from this collaboration. It is a fact that tourism is the strongest economic sector in Zadar County, with visitor numbers and overnight stays increasing year after year. However, the goal of quality tourism development is not just to attract more visitors but to ensure sustainability. This is why it is crucial to focus on enhancing the overall quality of the tourism product, including accommodation, gastronomy, and other experiences offered to guests. Additionally, it is important to relieve the peak summer season by extending tourism activity into the pre- and post-season, with the ultimate goal of achieving year-round tourism at a significantly higher level than the current one."

Hrvoje Anić, Director of the Zadar County Tourist Board, expressed great satisfaction with the new partnership.

"The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies has been an extremely important collaborator and partner for many years, and we are delighted that Zadar County has been selected as UHPA's destination of the year. This represents another important step and an excellent opportunity for the additional promotion of our county on both domestic and foreign markets. Zadar County is a destination that, with its diverse and well-preserved natural environment, rich cultural heritage, and authentic wine and gastronomic offerings, provides visitors with countless memorable experiences. We are confident that this collaboration between the Zadar County Tourist Board and UHPA will further enhance our county’s recognition as a highly desirable destination for various types of tourism—including active, nautical, and camping tourism, which we have been promoting for decades, as well as wine, gastronomic, and business tourism, which we have particularly emphasized in recent years."

For many years, the "UHPA's Domestic Destination" project has recommended both domestic and foreign destinations with the aim of further strengthening cooperation between travel agencies and tourist boards, developing new specialized tourism programs, and increasing targeted promotion and tourist spending.

"It is both an honor and a personal pleasure to sign the agreement that designates Zadar County as UHPA’s domestic destination for 2025. As someone from Zadar, I am especially delighted that this collaboration will allow us to further showcase everything that makes our region so special—from breathtaking islands and national parks to the warmth and hospitality of our people. UHPA recognizes the tremendous effort that the Zadar County Tourist Board has invested in developing sustainable tourism and creating unforgettable visitor experiences. I can proudly say that our region is not only a symbol of natural beauty but also a model of excellence in tourism offerings," said Tomislav Fain, President of UHPA.

He added: "UHPA remains committed to promoting domestic destinations and supporting its partners in their efforts to raise quality and develop sustainable tourism. We look forward to a partnership that, I am sure, will bring numerous positive effects to the local community and economy."

Through this project, successful collaborations have already been established with the tourist boards of Istria, Split-Dalmatia County, the City of Zagreb, Sisak-Moslavina, Šibenik-Knin, and Zagreb County, as well as with the tourist boards of Crikvenica, Hvar, and Split.

Zadar County, a destination that offers the perfect blend of nature, culture, gastronomy, and authentic experiences, will be featured as UHPA’s recommended domestic destination in all of the association’s informational and promotional materials, electronic communications, public appearances and events, meetings, regional conferences, seminars and educational programs, professional lectures, UHPA Days, the website uhpa.hr, social media, and publications.

During the press conference, it was announced that this year’s UHPA Days, the association’s largest annual gathering of members and partners, will be held from March 26 to March 28 at Hotel Pinija in Petrčane. This event will provide Zadar County with an excellent opportunity to present its offerings to representatives of travel agencies, UHPA members, and officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, and the media.
