Tourists in Croatia realized a record 110 million overnight stays during 2025

In comparison to 2024, a growth of 2% in arrivals and 1% in overnight stays was recorded

According to data from the eVisitor system, which includes tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial facilities as well as nautical charters (eCrew system), more than 21.8 million arrivals and 110.1 million overnight stays were realized in Croatia during 2025. This represents a growth of 2 percent in arrivals and 1 percent in overnight stays compared to 2024. Of this total, 104.6 million overnight stays were realized on the Adriatic, up 1 percent from 2024, while the continental part, including Zagreb, realized 5.6 million overnight stays, representing a 2 percent growth compared to 2024.

"We are satisfied with the achieved results, which were record-breaking in all segments again this year. We had a record pre-season and post-season, where we made a significant step forward in December with more than a million overnight stays realized. For the first time in history, we exceeded 110 million overnight stays, and in addition to all this, we achieved record revenues," said Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina.

Looking at the counties, the most overnight stays last year were realized in Istria (30.3 million), followed by Split-Dalmatia (20.9 million), Kvarner (18.5 million), Zadar (15.5 million), Dubrovnik-Neretva (9.3 million), Šibenik-Knin (6.6 million), and Lika-Senj (3.5 million). By destination, the highest number of overnight stays in 2025 was recorded in Dubrovnik, Rovinj, Split, Poreč, and Umag.

"The year 2026 opens up new opportunities but also presents challenges related to price competitiveness and safety. The main goal of the entire Croatian tourism sector should be focused on providing quality and value for money," said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB).

Regarding markets, the highest number of overnight stays last year was realized by tourists from Germany (22.3 million), Croatia (13.8 million), Slovenia (11.1 million), Austria (8.2 million), Poland (7.3 million), Czechia (4.9 million), and the UK (4.1 million).
