Croatia Airlines becomes the world’s first operator of the 127-seat Airbus A220-100
The national flag carrier welcomed its seventh new aircraft in Zagreb

In Zagreb, Croatia Airlines has welcomed the seventh of a total of 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft, through which the company is renewing and modernizing its entire fleet. This is the first new A220-100 type aircraft in the Croatia Airlines fleet, bearing the registration marks 9A-CAO and named Dubrovnik. The first new A220-100 arrived directly from the Airbus factory in Mirabel, Canada, as did all six new A220-300 aircraft with 149 passenger seats that have been integrated into the Croatian national carrier's fleet so far.
"We are proud to have become the fifth airline in the world to operate an A220-100 aircraft in its fleet, and it is particularly interesting that our newest aircraft has the highest seating capacity compared to all aircraft of this type. Our first A220-100, which will bear the name of the Croatian tourism pearl Dubrovnik, will further strengthen our flight network, provide passengers and crews with a first-class flying experience, and simultaneously contribute to our company's more sustainable operations. We thank our partners – the manufacturer Airbus and the lessor Air Lease Corporation – for their quality cooperation and support in realizing the renewal of our entire fleet, the largest strategic project in the history of Croatia Airlines," said Jasmin Bajić, President of the Management Board of Croatia Airlines.
The project for the complete fleet renewal is planned to be completed by 2027, when the Croatia Airlines fleet is expected to consist of a total of 15 new A220 aircraft, of which 13 will be A220-300s and two will be A220-100s.
